6) "1963, Origine" – Appellation Bordeaux Supérieur (vintage 2009)

Why '1963, Origine' ?...This is the year Patrick's father decided to cultivate organically only and it's with this respectful approach of the environment and mankind that Patrick has been cultivating ever since. Today, Patrick has reached the intimate conviction that he has developed an essential balance for the vineyard, allowing the purest expression of the grape. " '1963, origine' is the reflection of this balance, a beautiful meeting between my terroir and the wine maker which I am."

This wine made from 70% petit verdot and 30% merlot is of a unique approach in the classic Bordeaux world. Produced in very small quantities (max 2000 bottles) and only on best vintages, this wine surprises us by its quiet power, its diversity and its daring character. The floral notes of the petit verdot harmoniously compose with the generosity and the fruitiness of the merlot. This is a generous wine, presenting very elegant notes of French oak (16 months). No filtration or fining was done, adding to the aging potential (10-15 years).
